Introduction
"Somewhere between jungle swings and infinity pools, I lost the Bali I came for — and found one I wasn’t expecting”
The golden sun rays pass through the palm trees, and a fresh breeze takes you to the heavenly scenes. Bali, with its whooshing waves, might seem pleasing from your flight, but there’s something more to make your vacation right. So let’s make this one beyond the overrated because memories aren’t made behind desks.
Table of Contents
Temesi Waterfall
Surrounded by the evergreen jungle, its water makes a rumble. Pleasing you at first glance, the water reflects a fair chance. These falls are among the few that provide an enjoyable experience.
‣ How to get there
It’s an easy drive to the Temesi Waterfalls if you leave early at around 8:00 AM, as the ticket counter opens at 8:30 AM. You can purchase a ticket and from there it’s an 8-10 minute walk through the stunning rice fields and thick jungle.
‣ Best time to visit
Although the waterfall is delightful throughout the year, we suggest trying it in summer or spring, as there is no time to enjoy a refreshing dip until it’s too cold.
‣ Why it’s underrated
While the others were too busy admiring the waterfalls far away, the Temesi never let it privileged charm go away. We agree that every waterfall has its charm, which the Temesi can’t match, but the underrated factor remains one of its qualities, as it lacks a pool as big.
Goa Lawah Temple
The andesite stone highlights the architecture, surrounded by the bat caves, the temple resides in its glory next to the sea waves. This temple is built on a very sweet spot, giving you spiritual vibes and at the same time providing opportunities to enjoy a nice affair with the beach.
‣ How to get there?
After getting connected on the Jl. Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra Road is a delightful drive under the shade of trees and god rays passing through them, making you already feel the divine vibes of the temple.
‣ Best time to visit
Although the temple can be explored very flexibly regardless of the timings, the goal is to enjoy both things. We suggest you reach the temple by 4:00 PM; in that way, you can explore the temple within 1 hour, and then it’s the sand, the sea, and you.
‣ Why it’s underrated
The underrated factor remains a myth for the tourists of Bali due to its perfection as a favourite place for vacations. However, the thing that gives the temple an advantage is the overratedness of other temples, hyped up by the clichéd guide reels.
Tsavo Lion Restaurant
Food on your plate, with a view so great, the beast taking the sun-bath, but the vision is unable to choose one path. After trying hard to get some good photos for your stories, a delicious lunch is always inviting, especially when it's with the king.
‣ How to get there?
Getting to the restaurant is not a problem with GPS, but to enter it, you either need to book a safari package (e.g., Breakfast with Lion, Safari Lion Package, etc) in which the Tsavo Lion Restaurant is included, or book your stay with the Mara River Safari Lodge.
‣ Best time to visit
Visiting the restaurant requires you to book either a safari or a stay. So if you’re an outside visitor, we suggest booking a package with lunch and visiting the safari in the morning. But if you’re staying in the lodge, you can decide which meal you prefer with the king.
‣ Why it’s underrated
The factor of the restaurant requiring a ticket or booking a stay keeps the crowd away. Although the restaurant is very well-known and can’t be considered underrated, it is still enjoyable with perfect planning.

🌱 Conscious Travel Tips
🎒Travel Lightly & Mindfully
When going out, make sure to carry minimal but all the important things with you. Do carry sports shoes for comfort while walking.
👕Be Sure About Your Wear and Behaviour
Enjoy the beauty of Bali with a sense of consciousness while also respecting the Balinese culture.
🌊Respect Nature
Take your trash back with you from the beaches and hikes. Let the marine and coral life live peacefully by not touching them while snorkeling or diving.
🧘♀️Be Mindful in Spiritual Places
Bali is spiritually rich- yoga and meditation are welcome. However, remember to avoid any disruptive behaviors in the temple and not to treat them merely as photo opportunities.
🤝Interact with locals respectfully
Always ask before taking photos of people, especially in rural and sacred places. Learn a few words to take the interaction a long way:
Terima Kasih- Thank You
Tolong- Please/Help
Halo/Hai- Hello/Hi
Di mana kamar kecil?- Where is the bathroom? </aside>
